Other People Identifying items? - Guild Wars Forums

Ok, i was browsing the service forums and noticed several people were identifying items for a price then giving it back. Why is it good for a person to do this? Does it give you a better chance of getting better mods on an item? (Note: I have searched and have been unable to find information on this)

The person paying to identify the items is seeking a title for XXX # of rare items identified.

They are willing to pay you to save them the time of collecting all those rare items themselves.
